Listings Audit

Audit every Google Business Profile your brand owns.

One inconsistent listing — wrong hours, a missing category, a duplicate pin — quietly hands a customer to a competitor. PlaceOptimizer finds every profile across your locations, scores it, and tells your team exactly what to fix first.

What we audit

Six signals that decide whether you show up.

Not a generic SEO score — the specific, fixable things Google reads on every one of your listings.

NAP consistency

Name, address & phone — identical everywhere.

We compare the core identity of every listing against your canonical record and flag each location where the name, address, or phone drifts. Inconsistent NAP is the single biggest local-ranking leak. Drift is also scored at the brand level, not just per outlet: once the number of distinct business names across the network exceeds a fifth of your location count, the Brand Health Score takes a ten-point penalty on top of whatever each individual listing already lost.

Hours

Hours that are present, for all seven days.

Missing hours send customers to a closed door — and Google demotes profiles it can’t trust. We surface every location with absent hours or fewer than seven days filled. Whether the posted hours are still accurate is worth a manual check.

Categories

One primary category, applied consistently.

Seven different primary categories across a network means seven different search intents. We detect category drift so every location competes for the same, right queries. Like name drift, this is scored across the whole brand: once the number of distinct primary categories exceeds a fifth of your location count, the Brand Health Score loses five points for the inconsistency itself.

Photos & content

Enough photos, and a real description.

Profiles below the photo thresholds and those with thin or missing descriptions convert worse. We score completeness per location against fixed coverage thresholds, and each gap costs the location a defined amount rather than a vague deduction — a critical issue takes fifteen points off that outlet, a warning seven, and an informational note two. The arithmetic is published so you can predict what fixing any one thing is worth.

Duplicates

Duplicate-pin candidates, found and counted.

Duplicate listings split your reviews, confuse Maps, and cannibalise your own ranking. We surface pins within ~1 km of each other as duplicate candidates per location, for a human to confirm and merge. We never merge automatically — a genuine second outlet in the same mall would be destroyed by that. A single duplicate candidate anywhere in the network also costs the Brand Health Score five points, because the damage is not contained to one listing.

Ratings & reviews

Star rating and review depth.

We score each location’s star rating and review volume against health thresholds. Review recency and owner-response rate are flagged for manual verification, not scored automatically. Ratings are also read across the network: once more than a tenth of your locations sit below 3.5 stars, the Brand Health Score loses ten points, because a cluster of weak outlets is a different problem from one bad month at one store.

Scoring

One number your whole team can act on.

Every signal rolls up into a single 0–100 Brand Health Score — with the top issues surfaced first, so the work is obvious.

How to fix listing inconsistency across every location

Bring an estate of Google Business Profiles back into agreement — audit every listing against the signals Google ranks on, score them, fix the worst first, and re-check.

  1. Audit every listing at once

Run the audit across every Google Business Profile your brand owns, not one at a time — the cross-location problems only appear when the listings are checked side by side.

  2. Check the ranking signals

For each location, verify name/address/phone consistency, business hours, primary category, photo and description completeness, star rating and review depth, and duplicate-pin candidates.

  3. Read the Brand Health Score

Every signal is scored per location and rolled into one 0–100 Brand Health Score: 80+ is healthy, 60–79 is at risk, and below 60 is critical — so you know where the estate stands.

  4. Fix the highest-impact issues first

The report ranks issues by impact and surfaces the worst offenders first, so you fix name drift, wrong categories and duplicate pins in the order that moves the score most.

  5. Re-run to confirm the fixes

Run the audit again after making changes to confirm each issue has cleared and the per-location and brand scores have moved.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • What is a Google Business Profile listings audit?

It is a structured check of every Google Business Profile your brand owns — across all locations — against the signals Google uses to rank and trust local listings: name/address/phone consistency, hours, categories, photos, descriptions, star rating and review depth, and duplicate-pin candidates. PlaceOptimizer runs that check and scores the result 0–100.

  • Which signals does PlaceOptimizer actually check?

NAP consistency, business hours, primary category consistency, photo and description completeness, star rating and review depth, and duplicate-pin candidates. Each is scored per location and rolled into one Brand Health Score. Signals like review recency and owner-response rate are flagged for manual verification, not scored automatically.

  • How is the Brand Health Score calculated?

Every signal is evaluated per location and weighted into a single 0–100 number, with the highest-impact issues surfaced first. 80+ is healthy, 60–79 is at risk, and below 60 is critical.

  • Is the audit really free?

Yes — the public audit is free and requires no card. It is rate- and cost-capped so it stays sustainable, which is why it is pinned to a sensible default scope. For full, repeated, multi-location coverage, see pricing.

  • What do I receive at the end?

A client-facing HTML and PDF report covering every location and issue, plus a one-page executive snapshot email summarising the score and top issues — the same artifacts Invarya already sends multi-location brands.

  • Is this built for India?

Yes. PlaceOptimizer is India-first — built for the cities, categories, and multi-location brands operating across Indian metros, by Invarya Technologies in Pune.
