Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Invarya Technologies Private Limited and its affiliates (collectively "Invarya", "we", "our", "us") collect, use, share, protect or otherwise process your information and personal data through placeoptimizer.com and app.placeoptimizer.com (together, the "Platform"). You can browse most of the Platform without registering. We do not offer any product or service under this Platform outside India, and your personal data is primarily stored and processed in India. By visiting the Platform, providing your information, or availing any service offered on it, you expressly agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy, the Terms & Conditions, and the laws of India, including those applicable to data protection and privacy. If you do not agree, please do not use or access the Platform.
What we collect
We collect personal data when you use the Platform, our services, or otherwise interact with us. This includes:
- Account data: name, email address, and organisation details you provide when you register or sign in (including via Google OAuth).
- Audit inputs: the business names, locations, and related details you submit when running a Google Business Profile audit. These typically describe businesses, not private individuals.
- Lead and contact data: details you share when you request a demo, a full report, or contact us.
- Payment data: when paid plans apply, billing name, address, GSTIN, and payment-instrument details processed by our payment partners. We do not store card numbers ourselves.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and aggregate interaction data as described under Analytics & tracking.
You always have the option not to provide information by choosing not to use a particular service or feature. If you receive an email or call from anyone claiming to be Invarya and seeking sensitive data such as card PINs or banking passwords, never provide it; report the incident to an appropriate law-enforcement agency.
How we use it
We use personal data to provide the services you request: running audits, generating reports and scorecards, operating your account, and responding to demo or contact requests. We also use it to improve the Platform, troubleshoot problems, detect and protect against error, fraud, and other criminal activity, enforce our terms, conduct research and analysis, and, where you have not opted out, inform you about offers, services, and updates. Your access to some services may be affected if required permissions are not provided.
Analytics & tracking
We use two analytics services to understand how the Platform is used and to improve it:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC): collects aggregated page-view, event, and traffic-source data using cookies. Google may process this data on servers outside India. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Plausible Analytics (self-hosted by us at analytics.invarya.com): privacy-friendly, cookieless page analytics running on our own infrastructure. It collects no personal data, performs no cross-site tracking, and shares nothing with third parties.
For the specific cookies these services use and how to manage them, see our Cookie Policy.
Sharing
We may share your personal data internally within our group entities and affiliates to provide you access to their services, and with third parties such as payment processors and technology partners where required to deliver the services, comply with legal obligations, enforce our user agreement, facilitate marketing, or prevent, detect, mitigate, and investigate fraudulent or illegal activity. We may disclose personal data to government agencies or authorised law-enforcement agencies where required by law, or in the good-faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process, to enforce our Terms & Conditions or this Privacy Policy, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the general public. When a third party collects your data directly, their privacy policy governs; please read it before disclosing anything.
Security
We adopt reasonable security practices and procedures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, loss, or misuse. Transmission over the internet can never be completely secure, and by using the Platform you accept the inherent risks of data transmission over the web. You are responsible for protecting the login credentials of your account.
Deletion & retention
You can request deletion of your account and its data by writing to us at the contact below; deletion means losing all information associated with the account. We may refuse or delay deletion while a grievance, claim, or pending service remains open. We retain personal data no longer than required for the purpose it was collected for, or as required under applicable law, and may retain data where necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse. We may keep anonymised data for analytical and research purposes.
Your rights
You may access, rectify, and update your personal data directly through the account functionality on the Platform, or by writing to us at the contact information below.
Consent
By visiting the Platform or providing your information, you consent to the collection, use, storage, disclosure, and processing of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you disclose personal data relating to other people (for example, colleagues you invite to a workspace), you represent that you have the authority to do so. You consent to us and our partners contacting you through SMS, instant messaging, calls, and email for the purposes described here. You can withdraw consent by writing to the Grievance Officer below with "Withdrawal of consent for processing personal data" in the subject line. Withdrawal is not retrospective, and we may restrict or deny services for which we consider the withdrawn information necessary.
Changes
Please check this Privacy Policy periodically. We may update it to reflect changes in our information practices and will alert you to significant changes as required under applicable law.
